Truth in the Jungles of the Yucatan

Updated: Oct 31, 2023

The jungles of the Yucatan are green, beautiful, and peaceful. I spent some time there this month and was in awe of the small villages alongside the road with the houses made of palapa, dried palm leaves. Children freely roamed on their bikes and all the neighbors sold their vegetables and fruit from their land. Simple life and full of gratitude.

I went to an unknown spot to view a tower that was built about 15 years ago from a Spanish architect that owns the land. She had a different vision of what she was building there, but so did the workers. In the end, a beautiful three story tower emerged with a spiral staircase that looks like Rapunzel’s tower and the view from the top graces all of the leaves of the Yucatan jungle. There are also three private cenotes and a small area to sit around a firepit. It is a perfect place to retreat, to get back to one’s center and ground.

I then journeyed to the town of El Cuyo. What a mystical, colorful almost abandoned yet place situated right on the gulf. Truly there must have been life there years ago as now life is slowly starting to come back, but there were no people. Absolutely no one, just colorful houses right on the beach and one open cafe serving the best paninis, coffee and juice I’ve ever had in Mexico.

I went to visit this beautiful couple that has an “Awakening” beach house there and they also run retreats at the unmarked tower. Their vision is completely in line with my personal and professional vision. To awaken is to accept our spiritual nature, observe our behavior and to bring ourselves into alignment with the truth. Spending time with them and being in that present moment was truly inspiring. They are doing exactly what this world needs.

I look forward to partnering and planning retreats and intimate corporate gatherings with the “Awakening” family both at the tower and at their beach house.

It’s time to be in alignment with the truth. Finding the truth from within and to be well. That’s why focusing on wellness is key for me personally and for Olympian Meeting.

I feel like most people believe wellness is about eating healthy and staying fit but it goes beyond physical and also taps into your mental, spiritual, environmental, social, emotional and even financial being. Wellness is everything we do and every emotion we feel. With wellness in mind, we can reduce stress & illnesses, increase productivity, and promote positive synergy. The Global Wellness Institute defines wellness as the active pursuit of activities, choices and lifestyles that lead to a state of holistic health. With the current global changes to travel, health, and gatherings our focus has turned to all things health and wellness. With that, we can and should continue to initiate wellness in remote places like the Yucatan jungle and until we can meet there live in person, we have the virtual world!

So let us awaken your truth and inspire you whether it be in person or virtually.

For more information on the tower, house, and town please contact us and we would be happy to build that conversation.

“There is nothing so delightful as the hearing, or the speaking of truth. For this reason, there is no conversation so agreeable as that of the man of integrity, who hears without any intention to betray, and speaks without any intention to deceive.” - Plato
